Why are my AirTags suddenly disconnected and chiming?

Airtags are suddenly chiming for no good reason. This chiming made me open FindMy but no Airtags are connected. All my Airtags stopped being seen 2 weeks ago, why does this happen? Both my Macbook and iPhone are often in close proximity. This happened a few months ago too, but after being unable to fix it after a few weeks they suddenly reappeared. Is this system just not robust enough to be consistent? Any way to fix it? It's kind of useless if they are unreliable.

TheAirtags are not very old. I replaced batteries as the notification comes up. They do all behave normally on my iPhone, it is only on my Macbook they have chronic problems. But it's annoying because I should be able to see them in FindMy on both devices.

If the anomaly appears to be limited to that MacBook, the symptoms you describe suggest something amiss with its iCloud settings. What that could be is anyone's guess.

Try "signing out" of your iCloud / Apple Account on that Mac, followed by "signing in" again. Examining and / or deleting certain iCloud-related settings in Keychain may also be justified, although I do not have any specific entry to recommend.

How old are these AirTags? When was the last time you replaced their batteries? What exactly did you try to "fix" them?
