SuperDrive Model A1379 fail to connect with macOS Monterey and Windows 11

Tesserax, Thanks for getting back. Yes, it worked before, but no longer does. I purchased this at an Apple Store brand new, and probably still have the receipt, probably two years ago. To use it I had technical support, remembering that over the telephone I had to upgrade from Catalina to Monterey.

Do I connect the SuperDrive directly to my PC or Mac? I bought it to use with the Mac, but would have used it with Windows 11 upon successful connection. Offhand I do not recall using it for any function on my former Windows 10. No, I do not use adapter or hub.

Yes, my Mac is the one in the tagline.

Yes, System Information shows my SuperDrive when connected, which I didn't expect it to being that I could not insert a blank disc.

When I said that an Apple Store sold me the drive two years ago, I meant a physical Apple store that they have in major malls, mine being Rockaway Townsquare. If you mean by Authorized Reseller refurbished, then I never looked into that. This was brand new. Thanks for your interest.

Tesserax, I am getting mixed up here. My post from yesterday should be here where I am now typing, below yours above this one. Now I just thought you were asking me the same question from yesterday twice by the way these posts end up on this page. I had to search here for yesterday's post where I answered a series of your questions. Right now I just thought that maybe the connecting wire broke inside, the way those coiled wires on desktop telephones that connect the receiver to the base require replacement when that happens.
