Hi, I was trying to reset my MacBook Air by use of the recovery mode and I am now locked out. A padlock icon with a text box which I think I need to input my firmware password. I can't remember that as the MacBook is 2019. How can I regain access?
You will need to take it to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider along with acceptable proof of purchase & personal ID so they can remove the firmware lock. I doubt Apple will do this online, but you could try.
Otherwise, there is no way to remove the firmware lock.
