How do I prevent new messages from expanding to full screen in the Mail app on iPhone?

new messages In the Mail app expand to fill the entire screen when opened. How can this be changed so that they occupy a small window?

The best you could do is press and hold on a message to show a preview of it. there is no tiled window mode unless you are on ipad.

About the only way that I see you can do it is reduce the amount of lines in the Preview setting in Mail.

Settings>Apps>Mail>Preview Setting
