Image icons missing in Finder after macOS update

I upgraded from MAC OS 15 to 26; prior to the update, all my images showed their proper icons in finder (as aposed to the generic one), but now some randomly do not. There is no pattern as to why (some screenshots, for instance, do show a proper icon and some do not (no matter if they're from prior to the update or not)).

I'm on the same Macbook pro 2023, so what's the issue?

Have you shut down and restarted more than once since your "upgrade"...
