Final Cut Pro Library Disappeared After Upgrading FCP

I had a Final Cut Pro library with about a year's worth of media files I copied over into the library. After upgrading FCP the library is completely gone. I did not have this device on Time Machine so I cannot retrieve the old library. Anyone know any tips?


I placed a new FCP library to sync with google drive so maybe (hopefully) this will be a cloud backup and I can avoid this situation again in the future.

You can also do a Finder search for your libraries.

I don't believe for a second that an update erased anything. As Tom said, libraries are completely separate from the application.


Also, this library should be fairly large, so you can rule out small files like the usual backups that FCP does automatically.


A search like this one ought to bring it up real quick (make sure to select "This Mac" and not just the folder where you started the search):
