High Sierra to Big Sur upgrade

Trying to upgrade my MacBook Pro from High Sierra to Big Sur. Have an early 2015 MacBook Pro (Retina) 10.13.6 which Apple says is eligible. About this Mac shows I have 40.98 GB available and only needs 35GB for the upgrade. Yet, when I go to upgrade it says not enough memory. Any thoughts on why?

But Big Sur and Monterey give me an error that I do not have enough memory on my current laptop. My MacBook Air doesn't have the ability to add memory. I really only wanted to go with Big Sur because some apps are now saying "only available with iOS 11.xx or above" Finder shows I have 26G available. not enough memory on MacBook Air (8gb) to upgrade to Big Sur (needs 16gb?) Big Sur update says it needs 16GB, my MacBook Air (2015) only has 8GB. How do I work around this? I can't access Safari at all from this device at the moment because it keeps trying to get this update.

Disregard! I just saw on Apple website that early MacBook Pro (Retina) early 2015 is not eligible!
