Question about purchasing a new iPhone

I am interested in purchasing a new iPhone12. Does it come with a new SIM card? I currently have an iPhone 7 - can I use the SIM card from that phone in the new 12?

Yes, you can use the same SIM. In fact, if you plan on keeping the same number and carrier, using your current SIM is the easiest way to do that. If the new phone does come with a SIM, just set it aside.

The new iPhone may or may not come with a SIM card depending on your chosen options when purchasing. If you select a specific carrier, it may come with a SIM card for that chosen carrier. If you select the sim free option, it would not have a SIM card.

While both the iPhone 7 and new iPhone 12 use the same type of SIM card and yes you can move your current sim card from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 12, some carriers may require a new SIM card to connect to their 5G networks. Though for the most part your current sim card should work normally.
