I don't think I am supposed to see these on the desktop. How to I fix this?

Please go to Disk Utility, and select "View" > "Show All Devices". Select each device (or entry shown), and take a screenshot of it and upload them all here.

Not necessarily. Open Finder Preferences; Under the General tab you can select what displays on your desktop.
For some reason, I can see "Macintosh-HD" and "Update" folders or drives on my desktop along with my iMac icon. Is something wrong?
