iBooks app widget

When I try to add a widget for the iBooks app to my iPhone 8, it's not available. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for clarifying. Seems like various apps don't have widgets yet. Like Picas said, tell Apple you want this added via the link he gave.

Could you provide more detail regarding what you are talking about? What "widget"? The Books app is part of iOS. Does it open when you tap on its icon?

Yes, the app opens. I'm looking for a widget. Like the widget for the Podcasts app, which is also part of iOS.

The Podcasts app, Calendar app, Weather app, Battery app, etc. all are part of iOS and have a widget that I can add to a widget stack. The Audible app has a widget that I can add to a widget stack. The Books app does not unless I'm missing something.
