Phone volume on maximum when connected to airplay speaker

How can I stop my phone volume being on max when connected to an airplay speaker? My ringer volume is on the lowest setting with DND turned on during the day for work but the majority of notifications still come through the phone screaming, keyboard clicks when on are loud, email sending swoosh noise is loud, everything is maximum volume! This is probably to avoid it coming through the speaker and interrupting what I'm listening to but I don't need the extra volume from the phone.

Hi Caro17n,

We'll be glad to lend a hand with your iPhone's volume and turning off notifications if you are not wanting to be disturbed while working.

For the volume on your iPhone, even though you are using AirPlay, you should still be able to control the volume on your iPhone by using the Up/Down buttons on the side as you normally would.

As for the notifications, if you are wanting to disable of receiving alerts, as you do with calls, you can set this up using Focus by following the steps found in Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Set up a custom Focus
If you want to concentrate on an activity that’s different from any of the provided Focus options, you can create a Custom Focus. Here's how:
iPhone screen showing how to create a custom Focus.
1. Go to Settings > Focus.
2. Tap the Add button , then tap Custom or browse additional options.
3. Enter a name for your Focus.
4. Choose a color and an icon to represent your Focus, then tap Next.
5. Customize the options for your Focus.

The article above for Focus contains more details if needed. We hope this helps.

Have a great day!
