‘USB Accessory Using Too Much Power’ Issue
My Accessories :
an Arturia Keylab 61 (MIDI Keyboard)
a Boss 505 Looper (audio looper)
an Arturia MiniFuse (the Hub that the previous 2 things plug into)
The Hub is the only device that connects into the computer directly (USB C to USB A)
the Computer - a brand new M1 Mac Mini.
when I plug the MiniFuse (the hub) into cpu : all good. Add the Looper : all good. Add the MIDI Keyboard : Get error message from title. Keyboard lights up for a second, then dies.
How can it be “drawing too much power” if the Mac is plugged into the wall?
background : I had this same setup , but with the smaller version of the Arturia Keyboard hooked up to my 2016 Mac Laptop + worked fine.
Upgraded to larger midi keyboard, got the usb power message. Figured the larger unit was too much for a laptop so I broke down + bought the Mac Mini. Expecting a desktop plug-in to compensate for any power issues. But here we are.
just spent $1K on this Mac to solve this issue & it hasn’t. So bummed & confused.
