Song won’t play in a playlist

When I add a song to a playlist it will come up with “this song is not currently available in your country or region” but I can play the same song outside the playlist fine. Happens on my iPhone and MacBook. Any help on fixing this problem?

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Hello MichaelPreston182,

We’ll concentrate on your iPhone first. Please test the issue after each step.

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support -- See if restarting your iPhone resolves the issue. Restarting can help with odd issues like this.

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support -- Make sure that your iPhone is up to date. The current iOS is 16.3.1. You can see which version your iPhone is currently by going to Settings > General > About.

If this issue happens with a few of the songs in your Music Library, try removing one of the songs and re-adding it. See Delete music in the Apple Music app - Apple Support and Add and download music from Apple Music - Apple Support

Import music from a computer to Music on Mac - Apple Support -- If you subscribe to Apple Music, is/are the songs affected purchased from iTunes or imported from a CD?

If you use iTunes or Finder to sync your songs to your iPhone, try deleting one of the songs and redownload it again: Delete music in the Apple Music app - Apple Support and Redownload music - Apple Support. Then sync your iPhone again: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support

If you’re still getting the same error message, please contact Apple Support: Get Support

Thanks!
