updating Apple ID settings

I changed my password and now I am being prompted to update my Apple ID settings. Every time I click on it, it takes me to a screen with "Update Apple ID Settings - Some account services will not be available until you sign in again" and "Continue" when I click continue I get the spinning wheel and it does nothing - just stays on that screen. And the red dot is still there for me to update settings.
