how do you see all apple account transactions including gift cards

So basically what I figured out working with support is that when you "Redeem" a gift card from an email, it adds that credit to your Apple Account. However, there are only two ways to find "evidence" that this has happened, one is temporary, and one is buried treasure and this is where all the confusion comes from. The temporary evidence is that if you have a positive balance (credit) on your account, it will show up under your name and photo when viewing your account. Of course, if you have apple subscriptions like most people do, this balance will quickly disappear as those purchases use it up. Then, the only way to see evidence of your gift card is to go one by one through your purchase history and look at the details of each transaction to see if it was debited from your payment on file or debited from a Gift Card balance. Apple could fix this quite easily by simply adding the apple gift card credit transaction in line with all of your purchases on the day that you redeem it, but they do not. So, if you are like me and receive a gift card via email and mistake the Redeem button for meaning Activate like you are used to for most gift cards, and then you wait a month or two and go to use the gift card on a purchase only to have it tell you it was already used, you will have to go on the treasure hunt above to confirm that you did actually use it, just not in the way you expected.

I didn't ask anyone to change anything. Just sharing explicit information, including my opinion. You seem annoyed that I am providing this information, but I am being explicit because this is a user to user forum. If someone comes here wanting to know how to confirm that a gift card was deposited, maybe I'll save them the 1 hour phone call to find out what I learned... and if we're lucky, they'll agree that it's dumb Apple doesn't post obvious evidence of deposits to their account and provide feedback to Apple like I did.

This is not a question of understanding how debits and credits work. Most people know when they get a refund it reduces your credit card balance. But if you want to confirm it, it's really easy to do because ALL transactions post to your account history. The problem is that Apple makes it really hard to reconcile when you want to confirm any credits to your account. You should be able to simply go to your account, look at transaction history, and easily find the gift card "deposit".
