How can I recover from a high credit score drop?

I had my credit limit significantly decrease due to a late payment (60 days) which was unusual as I was changing jobs etc. This significantly dropped my credit score and I desperately need to get it back up as we are going through a home refinance. What can I do?

The Credit Limit is unlikely to be increased. You present a greater risk and recently missed two payments. They might consider an increase 12 to 18 months after your most recent missed payment.

On a side note, it is usual and customary for banks to reduce their risk when an account owner misses payments. If you had gone 90 days or more delinquent, your account would have been permanently closed and turned over for collection. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.😢
