AirPods 4th Gen inconsistent battery drain
Hi everyone,
I’ve been experiencing an issue with my AirPods (4th Gen) where the battery drains unusually fast and inconsistently. Here’s what’s been happening:
• One earbud drains faster than the other. Sometimes it’s the right one, other times the left.
• The battery drops around 4-5% every 3 minutes during normal use, which is much faster than expected.
• On some days, the AirPods perform perfectly fine, but on other days, the battery drain problem persists without any obvious external factors.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
1. Resetting the AirPods multiple times and re-pairing them with my iPhone.
2. Ensuring my iPhone’s iOS is up to date (currently running the latest version).
3. Turning off features like automatic ear detection.
4. Testing each earbud individually to confirm both are functional.
5. Checking the battery levels via the widget and directly on the iPhone.
I even took them to an authorized service provider (iStyle), but they didn’t find any hardware issues. They recommended resetting and re-pairing, but that didn’t solve the problem either.
I’m running out of ideas, and this is frustrating for such a new device. Has anyone faced a similar issue or has any advice? Is this something Apple Support could escalate to a replacement if it persists?
Thanks in advance for your help!
