Apple Watch approval issue for Apple TV movie purchases

I can use my Apple Watch to approve purchases through Safari on my Mac, I can use my Apple Watch to log into my computer, I can use my Apple Watch to approve pretty much everything except movie purchases on the Apple TV app running on my Apple TV hardware.

It’s not very often that I purchase apps on the App Store on my Apple TV device, so I can’t remember. This has been a problem for a very long time. I usually don’t have my iPhone with me. That is why I have an Apple Watch. So instead of approving a purchase on my watch, I always have to go somewhere and find my phone and bring it back to the TV to approve the purchase. Is there some setting of some kind that might be stopping this? Any suggestions would be helpful and I will double check but I’ve been trying to do this before and this might not be the first time I’ve asked this question here.

Since I rarely purchase movies, this issue doesn’t come up very often but it’s very annoying. I only purchase movies through the Apple TV service.
