App Store Subscription Renewed Without Awareness – Microsoft Confirms Apple Must Handle Refund, Need Assistance
Hello,
My Microsoft 365 Personal subscription renewed through the Apple App Store without my awareness. I submitted two refund requests, but both were rejected automatically.
Apple Support then told me to contact Microsoft.
However, Microsoft has now provided official written confirmation stating:
– the subscription was purchased and renewed through the Apple App Store,
– Apple is the merchant of record,
– Microsoft cannot refund App Store transactions,
– and I informed them the renewal happened without my knowledge.
I now have two Microsoft emails confirming all of the above.
But Apple Support still says they “cannot refund” and told me to ask Microsoft again.
This has created a loop where Apple says “ask Microsoft” and Microsoft says “only Apple can refund.”
I only request the renewal to be reviewed properly by the App Store / iTunes Billing Team.
