apple pencil stopped working when i updated to 13.4.1, today updated it to 13.5, the problem still persists, trying resting network settings, unpairing the pencil, hardbooting the ipad pro and its still not fixed, please help me out!! Tried the pencil on similar ipad on an older ios 12.4.1, and it works fine there....

i had the same issue on iPadOS 13.5.1.
I got the Apple Pencil after updating to 13.5.1 and for a whole evening I thought the pencil was dead on arrival.
Here’s how I finally got it paired.
charge your pencil to 100%
reset iPad network settings (do another hard reset just to be safe)
now charge your iPad to 100% and the moment you unplug the cable, plug your pencil in and you should get the much expected ‘pair request’.

Thank you for your reply, I’ll definitely get on it, in the second option you said charge the pencil and then plug into the iPad, you meant charging with the lightning cable through the power outlet?

buddy it did wonders, it worked. Charged the iPad 100% then restarted it, re-paired the pencil and it worked. Once again thank you so much!!

Buddy it worked for a while and then it stopped again. Both devices are on a full charge at the moment. Don’t know what else to do now!

If Apple Pencil’s battery sits depleted for an extended amount of time then it will essentially ruin the battery preventing it from ever holding a charge which makes the Apple Pencil useless. Apple Pencil has a 1 year warranty (when purchased from Apple) which means that Apple will most likely replace it if the battery has failed.

I have an iPad Pro 11 using iOS 13.4.1 since it was released, and my 2nd gen Apple Pencil works just fine. Just because an issue appeared when you updated, does not indicate it is an iOS problem, especially when you say that updating to iOS 13.5 did not change it. I would go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, the re-pair the Pencil.
thank you for your reply, i did try resetting network settings, repairing the pencil, even over all reset and it still persists, i am using the same pencil on similar ipad running 12.4.1 and it works fine there, i dont know what else to do....
