iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Hello. I bought two iPhone 12 and both has the same issue. In dark surrounding on any brightness lower than 90-100% screen has this ugly glowing! Black pixels are not turning off in dynamic scenes. In static scene black pixels turning off after few seconds.

My video shows it in video and in clock app.

And this is comparison by another one person who have this problem but with iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone XS screen.

That’s not normal at all. I post it to support and they said I should wait more. That’s just great...

SO after getting two brand new iphone 12 pro max, after ordering Like 9 models , i can confirm all fot this weird LCD like screen in pitch black room on a blakc wallappaer in full screen in photos apps ( to reproduce the issue easily ) or even by jut booting each phones out of the box in my bathroom with no lights on , ( you see this grey flicker...

I got 2 12 pro max today starting with F2 week 51 of production, like most of the ones i got , it's way better than the last one i got starting with G0... the issue is still present but barely visible specialy on one model + no yellow tint...

So i send pics to apple, and they confirmed to me THAT THEY DO NOT READ THESE FORUMS... AT ALL...

if u cant this minor issue ( in their opinion and i agree ) to be fixed , you need to call them and spend 30 min or 1 hour max with tech support and explain them all of this.. issue is software cos it never happen with brigthness at 100% and when the phone boot at first, the screen is perfect , you see the apple logo and then the grey flicker comes for a few seconds, it means that so cores components that initialize when booting up like all the sensor in the notch must be causing a little software bug that most ppl do not see.

they do have enough reports of this specific issue.. if all the people here were to call them maybe they'll will really look into the issue.. i've send pictures to them, spent some time with them, and it's the only solution for a fix to be coming ASAP.

hope most of you will calll them . otherwise they may fix it when 13 is released..

right with eyes you see almost a grey glowing. Only camera shows the glowing effect as green.

Ot is terrible how much communities report the same and no one of those who has exchanged his phone, still have the same issue. No one could say, yea after switch to an other 12 pro the issue is away.

The possibility that I get a 12 max , next Saturday, without the error is getting less and less. ☹️

wow now i am seriously confused. How a direct picture of my screen with the two buttons on the iphone shows me this yellow/green tint picture. the yellow follow a circle! As child we learnd never to play with an magnet nearby electric components. But todays iphones have a round magnetic field to positioning the wireless charging cal it MagSafe!

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a connection here.

Update: Just did a jitter test (moving up and down in settings ) on my old iPhone X and found a lot of purple smearing (between the grey and black portions of settings) on low brightness (less than 90%). While at 100% you can see no smearing.

On iPhone 12 pro max however lower brightness you can see no smearing, and same with max brightness. It could be a software technique which was not implemented correctly to prevent smearing, like was previously said in a previous reply. Though I need a iPhone 11 model to test my theory

I promised to report when I get my iPhone 12 pro max.

See of the following pictures.

Left the new 12 pro max right 12 pro.

First picture shows the Settings, I could see a better grey. On the right the grey is slightly yellow/green.

The other pictures shows at first 100% brightness. Both phones are perfect black.

Second pictures set show at first the around 50% and the last set around 30% backlight brightness. In all of this brightness the Max looks perfect. Lust but not least, my Home Screen where the issue also slightly visible.

I am very concerned of screen issues as well. I have an iphone X and the screen white and brightness is significantly better than my new 12 pro max (Regardless of any adjustments in the Accessability color tint section). I went into a store near me and their display was normal. They are sending me another but I can tell you for sure if it is the same issue I am returning it. Sad because I really wanted this phone. I will update if the new screen is normal.

Looking at the original picture when you compare iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone XS screens, you know where the green glow is, isn't this where the MagSafe magnets are located? Magnets could cause some interference and affect the screen, if this is the case then there's no way to fix that with iOS update, Apple will have to release new phones with some kind of shielding added...

I just got a call from Apple. The support staff has now received a message from the engineers that they are aware of the problem and are working on it at full speed. Whether software or hardware is still unclear. A software update will either be released or an exchange program will be offered on support.apple.com in the near future.
