drag and drop issues in Monterey
I cannot drag and drop files in the Finder on my Mac Pro (desktop) since upgrading to Monterey 12.0.1. Anyone else having the same problem? Any solutions?

I cannot drag and drop files in the Finder on my Mac Pro (desktop) since upgrading to Monterey 12.0.1. Anyone else having the same problem? Any solutions?
I was able to solve this problem with hints from the Interwebs: I opened System Preferences > Trackpad, and unchecked the box labeled "Force Click and haptic feedback." This solved my problem! Good luck.
However, for me it's not working using an Apple BT mouse neither.
Try trashing your trackpad plist files (search in your user Library). I just did that and drop & drag now works...will have to wait to see if the fix lasts.
Can't find a trackpad plist in my user Library folder, can you give specifics of full name and folder structure?
My M1 MBP Monterey Drag & Drop problem seems to have resolved itself without any action on my part, although I added ralphbu's solution for security.
I have the same problem with a mouse, any file, any destination
was this improved any with Monterey 12.1 released Monday, 13 Dec 2021?
No, It was Monterey 12.1 that had the problem, but it finally resolved after the second restart.
I also get this same issue happening randomly. A restart fixes it but it's not the ideal solution. NEW MBP M1 Max.
Same problem on MBP late 2021.
Sometimes it works after a moment but most of the times it does not work.
Tried that and so far it's working. it was so frustrating. I was able to make it work sporadically, but your fix made it consistent.
Thank you Robert :-)
Perfect! Simple and works.
Unchecking "Force Click and Haptic Feedback" worked for me too. (macOS 12.1 Monterey; iMac 24-inch, M1, 2021)
I believe I solved this issue. System Preferences > track pad > make sure Force Click and haptic feedback is unchecked.
Alternatively use the [Alt] key when selecting to invoke copy move mode then release [alt] when items are on the move.
Thanks, it worked.
Now what do I do if I want to use force click and haptic feedback?
