Hello I feel like my iCloud might have been hacked

How do you know if someone backed up your iCloud I never back mine up but says I did I’m worried my ex did this and I received a Notification saying that my iPhone couldn’t be backed up due to storage space is that normal or is someone trying to back up my iPhone
