MacOS rearranging windows across displays after sleep

Hi, I have a MacBook pro M2 and two Mac Studio displays. After my computer gets out of sleep mode, all the windows that I had open are randomly rearranged across all the monitors... It's very frustrating. Also after I log in the loading bar jumps across all screens in a rectangle while the rest of the screen is black, this is not annoying just surprising to see that on a Mac with only apple devices connected to it. Anybody else is having the same problems?

Ok, it seems that a safe reboot fixes the problem. Let's see if it comes back or not

Hey Carlos2o1,

So it looks like safe mode fixes the issue temporarily but the issue persists. Do you have multiple user accounts? If yes, did you get a chance to test it out with other accounts too?

If it happens with another user account, we recommend that you reach out to Apple Support next: Contact Apple for support and service

To create a new account if you don't have one, check out the steps below:

Add a user or group on Mac

Add a user
. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
6. Click Create User.

We hope everything works out!

Best regards.

Hey there Carlos2o1,

That's an interesting issue you're having, and we'd like to help however we can. Let's start with ruling out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. When did this start to occur?
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section ‘Restart your Mac' here: Shut down or restart your Mac
  3. We see you have macOS High Sierra installed, but the latest for that older version would be macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the quick answer. So it just happened now as I got my computer out of sleep mode... I missed label my post and I'm actually running macOS Ventura 13.2.1. Normal rebooting doesn't do anything, a safe reboot: Start up your Mac in safe mode – Apple Support (UK) helped for a while but it seems that if my computer is in sleep mode for more than 10 min, it does it again (rearranges the windows randomly across all screens).
