I called AT&T a few days to change my account from Verizon to them. I want to keep my Verizon number. A friend told me something about a port. How long does it normally take for this to work? I have not been able to receive calls for 4 days now. I finally can send and receive texts though as those did not work for 3 days. This is frustrating to deal with.
You must inform 'your current carrier' (Verizon) that you want to take your phone number with you to 'your new carrier' (AT&T)
'Your current carrier' will take care of the switch. Informs 'your new carrier' about this.
You must declare on time, and keep in mind that you will not be able to use your number for a few days. This all depends on where you live.
If the SIM format is different, visit or contact your 'new' carrier and request a replacement SIM card, normally it is free.
If it takes too long call/visit AT&T.
