lost iphone

Hi everyone

my phone was stolen about a week ago and I put it on lost mode thinking it would protect my phone from being reset today I received a message that my phone was found and there was a map link that won’t open!!

then I signed in to my find my iphone and saw that my iphone was no longer connected and only my AirPods were shown.

when I try logging in with my account on the map link that was sent to me it gives an error that the password or email is incorrect however when I sign in in my iCloud it shows my iphone but there’s nothing I can do really.

should I completely give up on finding my iphone or at least make the iphone inaccessible for the thieves

Sorry your iPhone was stolen!

says:

If your device is lost or stolen

If your device is lost or stolen, Apple Pay has security features to make sure that other people can't use Apple Pay on your device.

    • To use Apple Pay, you need to authorize each purchase with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
    • On your Apple Watch with Wrist Detection on, you need to enter your passcode every time you put on your Apple Watch.
    • You can mark your device as lost, which automatically turns off Apple Pay on your device.
    • You can also call your card issuer to suspend or remove cards from Apple Pay.
