Qardio has gone bankrupt and app is missing from App Store

I just upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro from the 15 Pro. Everything worked fine except for the Qardio app which is missing from the App Store. Thus it can't be used on the 16.

This is a real bummer as I have all 4 Qardio products. I have been using them for years and keeping historical records for health purposes. I'm seeing rumors that Qardio has gone bankrupt but haven't found any details. I've sent several messages to their support staff in recent days but have not received any replies. I do note that their online store is still selling their products as if nothing has happened. I consider this dishonest, at the very least. For the record, Amazon is also selling Qardio products. Imagine buyers' anger when they find out that the advertised app is unavailable.

This brings me to the big question: Why was the app removed from the App Store? I can't believe that Apple knows about this situation and the problems it will cause for many iPhone users like me. Maybe they would agree to put the app back up.

It seems very unreasonable to me that the app has been removed. Even if the company has gone out of business existing customers should be able to be supported. Assume it’s Apple rather than Qardio that has taken the app down… very disappointing! Didn’t plan on having to buy new scales and BP monitor just because I upgraded my phone!

Update to my previous post.

The problem I experienced a few days ago with my BP monitor has been solved. The issue was user error 😏 as the device needed new batteries and had to be paired with Bluetooth on my phone. I didn’t remember how to pair it and had to search online for instructions.

But the most relevant part of this post is that afterward, I was able to download the Qardio Health app to my iPad and log into my account. It worked and my history appears.

Someone in this discussion group got an email link on forgetting credentials. May be you can try it again. However, you can’t email their support for help anymore.

I’m not sure if you store your previous credentials in the Apple password manager or not. If you did, you should look for the credentials from getqardio.com instead of using the suggested email/password pair as it took it from a more generic domain (page.link).

Sure about that? I can get the apps still and their official website looks normal. Google and AI search produces results saying the opposite. I’d like to replace my Arm 2, so anyone have a link to official bankruptcy info?

Qardio is a private company that does not have to disclose its financial details like you would find with a publicly traded company. In addition, bankruptcy does not mean that a company is going out of business. It is not unusual for companies to file bankruptcy for restructuring and to reduce debt obligations. You will also find that when a company does go out of business, it is not likely that they disclose the date that happens and usually involves employees showing up to work with the doors locked and they learn about it with a note posted in the window.

As for trusting a company with future sales and service for their products, that can only be an individual decision by you. On the plus side they have built a brand with products and patents that are valuable and puts them in a position where other investors or companies may be inclined to purchase the business, before they were forced to shut their doors if they did become cash strapped and unable to raise cash through funding rounds. And on the other hand users have found that they are unable to get any support for their products and calls/emails go unanswered.

The bankruptcy claim that the OP was referring to is most likely the one here from their Netherlands subsidiary.
