Photo “Albums” disappeared after updating to IOS 18

I too thought my albums were gone and spent a day looking for them but they are still there. Follow the instructions below (thanks Lori_999) and make sure the albums are on and turn off all the other options that you don’t want and albums returns where you can find them

Open your Photos App

scroll down to the bottom and click on Customize & Reorder

Make sure Albums is checked.

I also unchecked a bunch of stuff I didn't need, which helped a lot!

Try selecting the “X” next to “Years Months All.” It will minimize the library of photos and display Albums, People, Pinned Collections, etc.

What do I have to do to see your response? This was my experience as well and I want a response! Please.

Any way to sort what remaining albums you can find alphabetically, or any other configuration? Any way to physically MOVE an album or photo to another position?

Same. I have albums missing, nowhere to be found and no, the pictures aren’t all back in my library. I’m devastated. Pregnancy, baby, wedding albums all gone

I used to type the photo Album name in search and that took me directly to the Album I wanted. But Now I have Scroll & scroll ? BS

Please please give us the option to go back to how photos were before this disaster known as last update took place. I’m ready to dump Apple after being a loyal customer for years!

Lost albums and pictures: Everything older than August 2024 is gone. I just looked at the phone memory through the pc and sync cable. I see nothing older.

Under “Albums” it says “no albums available” and there is a “create” button. No right arrow. The albums are gone. How do I go back to iOS 17?

Re iOS 18 and loss of albums in photos. If you scroll down to ALBUMS and hold your finger on the word your albums will appear when you remove it.

Thank you so so much! I found my albums at the end of Pinned Collections! What a relief! A bit of a rigmarole to find quickly though!!

I have the Album but it has 0 photos in it

I want to go back to the old app. This is the worst upgrade. I can’t seem to locate my albums! How do I go back?
