iOS 18.1.1 Update Issues on iPhone

Help. HELP. Help. APPLE is non-responsive on problems with 18.1.1 Update. My calendar is not searchable. My voicemails are gone. My battery is heating up during charging. This has to be fixed. This is the worst of the worst updates. So many parts of the phone not working properly. APPLE - what are you doing? Leave the formatting alone. And to add to the problems - after the update - had over 30 calls come in from spammers and unknowns - How do we get APPLE to withdraw 18.1.1 and/or fix these problems?

yes, it appears to have disabled spam filters. Spam phone calls x 100, spam mail x100, cant send attachments, affecting Mac Book Pro as well as Ipad and Macbook air (Air connected permanent on TV) overheating and brightness dulling to hard to read text, like night switch reversed, so dull at both day and night. Battery runs out and have to charge x 2 a day, ios 17 before every 3 days. hand burning overheating, could fry an egg. I guess I will have to buy a Samsung until Pajeet fixes this disaster. It is almost like a reverse power saving hack?

On further explorations after the recent huge Apple update, I would like to add the following.
My post to Facebook.
I hate Apple. I hate that they’ve made it so difficult to find photos. I resent the fact that they try to organise things that I’m perfectly able to organise myself. I hate that they’ve put a message balloon thing on my cover photo - one that asks you for a message, and the other (tho there may be more) that offers you to put some music on it for 24 hours.
I emphatically do not want to be that organised. I am not a ten year old wanting little games. I’m an adult who can deal with things the way I want, and HATE all this baby stuff. It’s wasting my time.

Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

hi Jeff,

a few things have been fixed such as excessive power loss. and txt msg's but my phone app is malfunctioning. in as much as Siri can make a call for me but I can't see who's calling, recent calls, contacts or phone msgs. all I get is a blank screen that disappears after 30sec or so back to the Home Screen. I haven't checked all my apps - I di have a life - but will try the check over the coming weekend.

Apple play seems unaffected with phonically being made and accepted. but I'm only in the car for an hour a day if that.

now what did I try before 18.1.2 - I rebooted several times, I tried to return IOS17 with my Mac but the file was gone so I reinstalled to IOS181.1. all this takes time theft protection takes and hour to remove. I'm glad I'm retired and very glad I'm in business and relying on my phone for my livelihood.

I agree with everything you said and more. So, I made an appointment with Apple Genius Bar in Miami (yesterday) The guy told me that he didn’t know of any issues with 18.1.1.

I told him to look at Apple Community and X - there is so much out there about 18.1.1 being a disaster.

Anyway - he fixed nothing. Told me to kill my phone and reload it - but each APP would have to be downloaded one-by-one. He then told me the changes in 18.1.1 are what customers were asking for. I said “where”. He did not answer. He said - they can not respond to everyone’s problems. I told him lots of people are having trouble with calendars, voicemails, emails.

REALLY - they can’t fix this?

I think it absurd that I had to make an appointment and waste 3 hours - going to downtown - then waiting - then driving back. For NOTHING.

being a disaster.

IPAD Pro update IOS 18.1.1

The update screwed up my email accounts. I setup subfolders and after the update I cannot access the subfolders. I have three email accounts, two with yahoo and the cloud email account. Additionally, the edit feature to remove tons of frivolous emails doesn’t work properly. Very frustrating. I turned off the auto update to prevent the same problem with my phone. At least via phone, I can access saved email.

My emails come in on the provider’s webmail( Shaw) but they don’t come in on my iPad and iPhone. Driving me crazy ever since the 18.1.1 update. I spent two hours on the phone resetting passwords, sending test emails and it’s all a nightmare since I had it working one time after many resets on everything from my router, to my email passwords on each device. Also good luck even finding your email accounts in Systems as it is now considered an App. So look under Apps. My provider cannot repair whatever has been done. Now what?

Even at 81 years of age and about ten happy years of iPad and iPhone use, This latest update has me fuming and bewildered. My needs are simple. I email, i google, i am active on Facebook, on Message, in Italian and English, on a number of other Apps. Now I’m fighting to do simple things. Why are these perfectly spelled words all underlined? Why am i getting i when I want I? Why do apostrophes no longer appear? I’m sorry, Apple, but you are battering some of us with far too much. Most people neither want nor need these levels of “exras” (notice how it hasnt corrected either “extras” or put the apostrophe in hasnt”. What is going on. I’ve loved being with Apple - on phone and iPad, but this latest update is a mess and I’m going to have to re think (!) my allegience .

Since installing the iOS 18.1.1 update I’m having trouble in Facebook, on Safari, and in my message app. It’s very frustrating. In Safari no matter which search I click on I get the most recent one. I have to finagle my way around it in order to see sites that I have access to days ago! I sure hope a new update is coming out soon!
