iOS 18.1.1 Update Issues on iPhone

I figured out how to Message full sized photos on IOS 18.1.1

It’s takes an an extra step that when using IIS 17 but it works.

1) Open the photo in your Photo’s App.

2) Touch the 3 Dots in the upper right corner of the photo to open the Drop Down menu.

3) Select Copy

4) Open Messages andPaste the Photo in your Message

5) Send the Message as you normally would .

I’m was surprised I didn’t find the answer while searching for it in the Posts in the Apple Community Forum.

i would have thought someone… or an Apple Tech would have posted it.

Actually, like others have commented, I wasn’t holding my breath that a Tech would explain it because it appears they’re only good for creating problems that we have to solve. :)

Same thing here - couldn’t handle the lack of touchscreen responsiveness. Apps aren’t working. Can’t search phone. I do a hard reset after things were backed up. iCloud can’t sink. Lost photos. Lost contacts. Screen is still not responsive. Apps don’t work. Will be making another appt for them to tell me “oh I haven’t heard of anything like this” even though the forums are clear. It isn’t me. It’s you Apple. Get it together when you expect us to pay 1k for a phone

What’s happened? Photo editing is more difficult, in WhatsApp I can no longer access all my photos. I couldn’t add a file attachment to a WhatsApp message. The list goes on as I’m finding out more.

Why change what doesn’t need fixing? Especially when the ‘change’ is far worse!!

Apple - please fix ASAP

my phone crashes all of a sudden. All my notifications on the notification Center are not responding. Battery heats up very badly and battery is draining within few hrs of full charge. Horrible update from Apple. Wish I didn’t update my phone with 18.1.1

i'm with you but I'm only 78. and ive had an iPhone since year dot. my iPhone is 15Pro my telephone wont work and gives me a blank screen, my msgs don't work and I get a screen that's stuck. my email to date seems unaffected- my wife's iphone11 works with 18.1.1. Go figure?

ive never had a problem with an upgrade before. What's going on Apple?

I really don’t like the menu being rearranged in the left column settings. I asked if I could modify it, no. It is now annoyingly time consuming to find and use what I need.,

MY PHONE overheated for the first time ever. I have an android cell phone. Unbelievable that an upgrade would cause a phone to overheat and there is no response from Apple is horrific.

On further explorations after the recent huge Apple update, I would like to add the following.

I hate Apple. I hate that they’ve made it so difficult to find photos. I resent the fact that they try to organise things that I’m perfectly able to organise myself. I hate that they’ve put a message balloon thing on my cover photo - one that asks you for a message, and the other (tho there may be more) that offers you to put some music on it for 24 hours.

I emphatically do not want to be that organised. I am not a ten year old wanting little games. I’m an adult who can deal with things the way I want, and HATE all this baby stuff. It’s wasting my time. 😡

I realized the android overheating complaint should not be in this list. I was confused because they happened at the same time. The 18:11 update some how kicked out our centurylink email accounts. After close to an hour with centurylink they told me to contact Apple.

Years ago I had support tell me not to upgrade for a couple of days. Complaints about the upgrade could be worked out by then. At this point maybe we should wait a week.

Right they basically ruined my 14 pro. I’ve lost stuff I was in the middle of writing via email or on apps, because the keyboard disappeared, and there was no way to get it back. In addition, I can’t go back and comment on a prior text that someone sent put a thumbs up anything that’s just a couple of the many things!

I agree with everyone on this chat. I joined today because I am so frustrated with 18.1.1 and wanted to see if I was alone. Apple, where have you hidden the very useful list of passwords for all of the accounts that I use and saved pw’s for?!!! It is really helpful to be able to check the list, not least to see when I have unintentionally repeated a pw. Please bring it back, or if it isn’t gone, put it back where it was.

Passwords has graduated from being part of Settings app to being its own app, called Passwords and it looks like this,

Maybe they’ll be able to add additional features and functionality in the future.

So frustrating- this latest update changed so many parts of the phone. I have things scheduled on my phone that I deleted 6 years ago. I have holidays appearing that moved my actual appointments to be not seen. I can’t see my notes within the schedule which has locations and phone numbers hidden. I have too many medical appointments lost within the phone.

I have missing business emails that people say they sent. I can’t open some of the emails either. Come on Apple, I’m very very frustrated. On going issues. No sound on my phone all day yesterday, calendar screwed up today, emails missing.

1.I literally pay for extra phone storage so we should be reimbursed if we’re basically unable to use it & I know I’m not overloaded and yet my photos and videos take forever to load IF they load at all. I’m also unable to send videos to people due to them just sitting and spinning. 2. I’ve noticed I’m unable to post photos or videos on IG from my gallery. I’m only able to post what I take at that moment. 3. Every time I delete photos either one by one or mass selection, they remain. They simply don’t delete. Apple, please fix these bugs ASAP!!!

Me too. Very inconvenient. Everything is bugging... it is freezing all the time. I am a moderate iPhone user, with a 128 Go storage and 71 Go used. Since the last update my phone function as the one I had when I reached 63 Go used out of 64....... I want to go back to the former one!
