Wondering if this is on iPhone (see below) or Mac (see further below), and what happens when you try ...

or

whether you just need to locate the correct settings:

__________

For iPhone: with iOS 18 installed:

See the article: Change display colors on iPhone to make it easier to see what’s onscreen - Apple Support

Eg: says for Invert Colours:

  1. "Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Display & Text Size.
  2. Turn on one of the following:
    • Smart Invert: Reverse colors everywhere except images.
    • Classic Invert: Reverse all the colors onscreen."

and

"Tip: Quickly set brightness with the slider in Control Center."

For easy access to controls: You can customize Control Center if you wish:

If needed: For Mac with MacOS 15:

See the Note below which explains that if you use Night Shift or Color filters (except "Geyscale")

then Invert Colours is turned off.

Eg says:

  1. "Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Accessibility  in the sidebar, then click Display on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Turn on “Invert colours”.
  3. Note: If you turn on Night Shift or colour filters (except Greyscale), “Invert colours” is automatically turned off.
  4. Choose a mode for inverting colours:
    • Smart: Invert colours everywhere except images and video.
    • Classic: Invert colours everywhere."

All the best :-)
