I’m so confused. My phone auto updated to 26.0.1 and now whenever I’m listening to anything, Spotify, YouTube, and I’m scrolling on Facebook everything is fine but once I go to close the Facebook app, all audio pauses. I don’t understand why because it’s not like I’m listening to anything through the Facebook app? It’s only started happening with the 0.1 update.

You may have a different pattern, but most users in this thread said that updating Facebook fixed it for them. You might try updating all of the apps.
And if you are closing apps by going to the App Switcher and swiping up on an app to kill the app that can cause it also.
Updated Facebook last night and it’s fine now.

It has nothing to do with iOS 26. It has everything to do with Facebook, which is one of the buggiest widely used apps on the Internet. It is updated almost daily; the last update to Facebook was today, October 7, at 7 AM PDT. You can see if that updated fixed it.

Yes, this has been diagnosed as an issue with Facebook and either Facebook or Apple will need to release an update to resolve the issue.
It’s a Facebook issue. It’s how FB manages resources when it’s put to sleep/suspended.
This is clearly a Facebook app issue. It happens on my 12 pro running 26.0.1 and also on my wife’s 12 pro running 18.6.2.
It happens also when pressing the right side button when fb is in focus.
Tell Facebook Support. This is typical for Facebook (Meta) apps. Last year they’d fix one issue and two more would pop up.

Mine started doing it after I got my phone and it updated to the iOS 26.01. All of my media stops if I close out of Facebook or if I bring the notification thing down while in Facebook. But if I put the notification back up and pull it back to play what I’m listening to it plays right away until I get rid of Facebook from the screen basically. And it’s no matter what I listen to. YouTube, YouTube music, Spotify. But I could be on snap or a game or even searching something up and the media doesn’t stop. Only with Facebook.
Yes!!!!! I’m having this issue with Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, Libby… But it’s not just Facebook for me even Amazon when I close that app it will kill my audio. I don’t believe this is a Facebook issue. I believe this is an iOS issue.
Facebook and or Apple will need to release an update to resolve the issue.
